Miss Brockway 2006/2007 Anna Welsh, shortly after being crowned with Miss Pennsylvania Nicole Brewer

Anna Welsh, 19, of Hazen captured the title of Miss Brockway 4th of July Queen, Sunday night at the Opening Ceremonies of the Miss Brockway pageant. Welsh, a political science major at Clarion University is a graduate of Brookville High School. She was a previous Jefferson County Fair Queen, and this past year’s Laurel Queen. This win will make her a finalist in the official Miss Pennsylvania Miss America Finals held in July of 2007. There, she will compete with 24 other state finalists. Anna Welsh can be seen in her first appearance at the Brockway Old Fashioned Fourth of July Patriotic Program where she will welcome and make further comments at 11:00 on the American Legion Memorial Stage. Welsh plans on spending the next year educating the area on the need to vote. She has titled her platform, “"You Have A Voice," Political Education and Encouragement.”
